My Top Places I Want to Travel to

One of my favorite things to do is travel to different places. I love seeing sights that I have never seen before and being immersed into another world. As a dreamer, I tend to make big dreams even though it would be very difficult to attain them. This is especially true with my travel goals. Below are my top places I want to travel.
The United Kingdom- My family comes from all over the UK. I would love to go and see where my family came from. My husband and I also have friends there whom I would love to see again.
Germany- I have German roots on both sides of my family. Again, it would be great to see where my family came from before immigrating to America. My Husband and I also have friends there as well.
Estonia- My husband's family lived in Estonia for a few years when he was a kid. We both want to go to Song Fest, and he would like to show me where he lived.
Finland- My husband also lived in Finland for several months when he was in high school. I would like to see where he lived, and I am sure he would like to visit his friend there. I would also like to go to the arctic circle and if see the Northern Lights.
All 50 States- I even have a map that I am marking off each state that I have been to. So far, I've checked off Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. In order to check the state off the list, I have to have my feet on the ground there. This means that it does not count if I drive through the state without stopping. However, simply stopping at a gas station to get a snack would count. Most of these states got checked off when my dad's family pooled money together for us to go on a trip to Disney World when I was a kid.
National Parks- I would like to visit many of the national parks here in the United States. It is okay if I do not make it to every single one though. I have been to multiple state parks but no national parks.
Spain- I took three years of Spanish in high school and have wanted to go to Spain ever since. I especially would like to do some portion of El Camino de Santiago and see Madrid.
Italy- I primarily want to see Rome, but I would also like to go into the countryside and see the quieter, less busy side of Italy.
Greece- Much like Italy, I want to visit the capital of Greece, Athens, and see a bit of the countryside.
South Korea- My husband and I have friends in South Korea who we both would love to see again.
New Zealand- Aside from the breathtaking views, my husband and I want to visit the filming locations for The Lord of the Rings.
Peru- I especially want to go to Machu Pichu. I love going to historical and archeological sites in general.
Australia- My husband and I want to go together. Two places of interest would be Bondi Beach and Australia Zoo.
Japan- I love cherry blossoms, and Japan has some of the most beautiful sights to see them.
China- I want to walk along the Great Wall of China and see some of the nature that is in China.
You might have noticed a few trends in my reasoning for going to these different places. My reasons can be summarized into four main reasons: to enjoy nature, to satisfy my nerdy side by seeing some archaeological sites, to visit people I know/ meet people my husband knows, and connect with my roots.
Honorable Mentions
This list was only supposed to have 10 places. However, I love visiting places with historical or archeological significance as well as places with unique or beautiful nature scenes. These places always inspire me and help to fuel my creativity. Here are 5 honorable mentions that did not make it to my top 15 up above.
Mexico- I want to go primarily for the many archeological sites. I'm a nerd.
Chile- There are many very beautiful places in Chile that I would love to see.
India- Like Mexico, I want to go to India primarily for the archeological sites. Seven
Ancient Wonders- I have one out of seven done. I have been to the Great Pyramids of Giza. It would be very cool to see the sites of the other six.
Antarctica- So far, I have been on four out of the seven continents in the world. If I were to go to Australia and South America, I feel like I might as well top it off with a trip to Antarctica to see some penguins in their natural habitat instead of a zoo. Besides, a part of one of the many books I am working on takes place in Antarctica. I might as well get a real-life experience to help educate my writing.
